Assassin of My Heart

Oh, how I scorn you
you, the assassin of my heart
Baiting me with your caring,
drowning me with your charm

Maybe I was the fool,
who let you get too close
But what defense did I have
against your soul?

You, the ideal,
overpowered me
Hijacking my faith and hope,
then abandoning me in reality

Now you, a fleeting fantasy,
a thief retreating into the night
Take with you a stillborn love,
stolen silently from this world
